The Hydration Game can be used informally in the workplace, or as part of more structured training programmes or workshops. Facilitation by someone with expert knowledge of hydration is not required, and the game can be managed by the players themselves.
Games take around 45 – 60 minutes to play, and up to 12 people can play together.
The game contains 3 packs of cards, which 2 teams will take turns to answer as they move round the board:
General Cards: knowledge building cards, which help players test and build on what they know about hydration.
Discussion Cards: lets players discuss and explore creative solutions to improve hydration for their patients, residents and service users.
Staff Cards: A separate game that encourages staff to notice and address their own hydration needs.
